DalterFood Group Takes Over For Food France to Accelerate EU Expansion

A new international expansion deal marks a pivotal step for DalterFood Group, which has announced the acquisition of For Food France, a long-established distributor of Italian cheeses in the French market.

The transaction forms part of a broader strategy aimed at consolidating DalterFood Group’s presence in France, where it exports premium dairy products such as Parmigiano Reggiano PDO and Grana Padano PDO, alongside other flagship Made in Italy specialties, including mozzarella. The objective is to strengthen its commercial foothold in the country and position itself as a reference partner for large-scale retail chains, the food industry, and specialist distribution channels.

RECORD REVENUES AND EUROPEAN DEVELOPMENT

I am very proud to announce the entry of For Food France into our group,” said Andrea Guidi, General Manager of DalterFood Group. “2025 has been an extraordinary year for us, with record revenues of €200 million, confirming the solidity of our business model and the value of the work carried out by the entire team.”

The creation of a commercial subsidiary in France, made possible by the acquisition, represents a key strategic milestone in the group’s European development plan. The move is designed to replicate the model already successfully implemented in the United Kingdom and Germany in France, further consolidating DalterFood’s presence across the continent’s main markets.

THE STRATEGIC WEIGHT OF THE FRENCH MARKET

France plays a central role in Italian cheese exports. In 2024, the country imported more than 144,000 tonnes of Italian cheese, making it the leading export destination after the domestic market. Demand is particularly strong for high-value-added PDO products such as Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana Padano, and mozzarella.

Within this framework, For Food France’s in-depth knowledge of the local market and territorial proximity represent decisive competitive levers to ensure operational flexibility and rapid customer service.

A defining feature of the transaction is the continued involvement of Mauro Zuliani, founder of For Food France, who will remain a shareholder in the project and lead the newly established French commercial subsidiary. With more than 30 years of experience in the dairy sector and a solid multinational background, Zuliani founded For Food France in 2020, rapidly establishing it as a benchmark distributor of Italian cheeses in France.

The entry of For Food France into DalterFood Group represents an important evolution for our company,” Zuliani stated. “Being part of a solid and well-structured group, with a strong focus on product quality and a consultative customer approach, will allow us to offer an even broader portfolio, starting with Dalter-produced Parmigiano Reggiano, and increasingly qualified support thanks to the synergies developed within the Group’s various companies.”
