Tokyo has reaffirmed its position as an international hub for contemporary pizza. During a ceremony held at the Italian Cultural Institute in the Japanese capital, 50 Top Pizza, the sector’s most authoritative global guide, named RistoPizza by “Napoli sta ca,” led by Giuseppe Errichiello, as the Best Pizzeria in the Asia–Pacific region for 2026.
The award recognizes the rapid growth of Japan’s gastronomic scene and the work of a pizzaiolo who has successfully brought authentic Neapolitan pizza to the heart of Tokyo’s Azabudai Hills Store.
THE TOP THREE: TOKYO, HONG KONG, AND SYDNEY
Errichiello’s restaurant took first place in the regional ranking. Second place went to The Pizza Bar on 38th, the world’s smallest pizzeria with just eight seats, led by Daniele Cason, Executive Chef of the Mandarin Oriental Tokyo.
Third place was shared by two venues that have helped redefine artisanal pizza in the Asia–Pacific region: Fiata, led by Salvatore Fiata in Hong Kong, and gigi’s, run by Daniel Semrani in Sydney.
