Back to the Italian Book Club at Casa Zerilli-Marimò

At the Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò, the cultural centre of New York University dedicated to the promotion of Italian culture in the United States, the Italian Book Club, the Italian language reading group open to the public. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 31 March 2026, from 18:30 to 20:00, and will take place online on the Zoom platform.

The club was born to offer a space in which to exercise the Italian language through the discussion of contemporary books. The texts are proposed directly by the participants and, in most cases, are works of recent Italian authors, chosen for the ability to reflect linguistic evolutions and social transformations. For this meeting, the chosen text is Il maestro e l’infanta di Alberto Riva, a novel set between Italy and Spain in 1720. The book takes inspiration from the world of baroque painting and tells the relationship between a young aristocrat and his master of music, reflecting on identity, power and social relationships. The conversation is open, with the explicit invitation to intervene actively.

Version 1.0.0

The Italian House hosts the initiative without taking part in the selection of titles, leaving the group full autonomy in editorial choices. To register and receive operational information you must contact the club coordinator directly. Participation is free, but the number of places is limited: you can book here.
