A new Guinness World Record has been set in the heart of London, where the longest tiramisu ever made reached an impressive 440.58 metres. The achievement, announced at Chelsea Old Town Hall, brought together leading figures in Italian gastronomy, including Forno Bonomi and Eataly London, alongside chefs, students, and volunteers.
Forno Bonomi played a central role in the initiative, supplying 154,000 ladyfingers produced with simple ingredients—flour, sugar, and eggs. The dessert ultimately measured 440.58 metres in length, with a height of 8 centimetres and a base width of 15 centimetres, securing its place in the Guinness World Records.
Eataly London, a key sponsor of the event, highlighted the collaborative nature of the project. “We were proud to support a new Guinness World Record,” the organization stated. “Together with Rosaria Sara Spina, Head Pastry Chef of Eataly London, and Sous Chef Serena Angelillo, we contributed to the creation of the longest tiramisu ever made, led by Mirko Ricci and the organisational team of COMPLITALY TV.”
The scale of the undertaking was significant. According to organizers, the dessert required “50,000 ladyfingers, over 3,000 eggs, and around 400 kg of mascarpone,” culminating in the record-breaking length. The event brought together a diverse team in what was described as “a collective masterpiece with incredible numbers.”
Beyond the record itself, the initiative carried a strong charitable dimension. Portions of the tiramisu were distributed to the public in exchange for donations, raising approximately £20,000. Proceeds supported the Esharelife Foundation, a UK-based charity focused on educational, healthcare, and social projects worldwide.
Organisers emphasised that the event went beyond culinary achievement. “It was not just a record attempt,” they noted, underlining the importance of social impact. The project aimed to showcase Italian cuisine as “a universal language of community, sharing, and solidarity.”
