Caffè Vergnano Targets Global Growth With 10 New Coffee Shops by End-2026

Italian coffee company Caffè Vergnano has unveiled a new international growth plan aimed at strengthening its global coffee shop network, with 10 new openings scheduled across Italy and overseas by the end of 2026. The strategy will also include the refurbishment and expansion of several existing locations as the company seeks to reinforce its presence in strategic markets and further promote the culture of authentic Italian espresso worldwide.

The announcement follows the recent opening of the company’s coffee shop inside Rinascente Milano, a move that underlines the premium positioning of the format and the group’s focus on high-visibility, high-footfall retail destinations.

The development plan combines expansion in established markets with entry into new territories. Among the upcoming projects are the brand’s debut in the Dominican Republic through a new opening in Santo Domingo, as well as additional stores in Ireland, Nice (France), and a second coffee shop in Ulaanbaatar.

Surpassing 200 stores worldwide means consolidating a project that has demonstrated its ability to evolve over the years,” said the company CEO, Carolina Vergnano. “Every new opening represents an opportunity to build relationships, share culture and make the value of Italian espresso signed by Caffè Vergnano increasingly recognisable.”

The group currently operates a network of 199 locations across 20 countries and 121 cities. Of these, 154 stores are located in Italy, 21 across the rest of Europe, and 24 in other international markets. The coffee shop project has been developed over the past 25 years with the objective of transforming the traditional Italian café into a branded consumer experience through customised formats, dedicated interior design, and environments conceived as a “second home” for customers.

As part of its international retail strategy, the company is also continuing to invest in temporary retail concepts. In April, Caffè Vergnano launched a pop-up coffee space at Le BHV Marais in Paris, which the group considers a strategic hub for showcasing contemporary Italian lifestyle and hospitality.
