The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for a beef jerky product because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen.
The product contains wheat, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product label. People with allergies or sensitivities to wheat run the risk of serious or life threatening reactions if they consume the product.
A recall was not requested because the product is no longer available for purchase.
FSIS is concerned that some product may be in consumers’ pantries.
The ready-to-eat beef jerky item was produced on various dates between Aug. 7, 2025, and July 1, 2026. The following product is subject to the public health alert:
2.5-oz. plastic bag packages of “STREET’S BEEF Jerky TERIYAKI FLAVOR” with lot codes 0701271, 0520271, 04014271, 0415271, 0211271, 1015261, 1016261, 1029261, 0909261, 0806261, and 0820261 shown on a sticker on the packaging.
The product has the establishment number “EST. 21827” printed inside the USDA mark of inspection. This item was shipped to three retail locations in Oklahoma: Bordwine Hay, Feed & Hardware, Grassroots Farm Store, and Bromide Trading Co.
The problem was discovered during a routine FSIS label review.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of this product. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a health care provider.
Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
