La Reggia di Caserta, UNESCO Site, hosts “TERRA DI LAVORO WINES”

Caserta, 08 October 2025 – The wines of Terra di Lavoro will be protagonists, from Saturday 11 to Monday 13 October, of Terra di Lavoro Wines, the event, now in the fourth edition, promoted by Consorzio Tutela Vini Caserta VITICA and the Royal Palace of Caserta. And it will be the Sala Terra di Lavoro and the Cortile I della Reggia to host the five denominations protected by the Consortium.

Fifty-three participating companies will present 164 wines, well divided between 72 reds and 67 whites, with a significant presence of roses and bubbles. At the disposal of fans, in a series of free tastings, will be a wide and qualified representation of Aversa Asprinio DOC, Falerno del Massico DOC, Galluccio DOC, Roccamonfina IGT and Terre del Volturno IGT. To accompany the tastings, there will be theatrical interventions, curated by Officinateatro APS, and musical, Saturday with Ivana Muscoso Trio and Sunday with Stessy’s Mood.

Opening Saturday 11, at 10.00, with the conference “The chain of wine: criticality and opportunity”, introduced by the greetings of Tiziana Maffei, Director of the Royal Palace of Caserta, Cesare Avenia, President of VITICA, and Tommaso De Simone, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Caserta.

Particularly significant is the partnership with the Royal Palace of Caserta, symbol of Campania and Meridione. «The Reggia – anticipate Tiziana Maffei, Director of the Park- is today more than ever a place of meeting, sharing and network dynamics. The province of Caserta, as it recalls its being part of Terra di Lavoro, has a deep productive vocation and the wine sector represents a strategic resource. Supporting reality as VITICA -revendicates the Director of the Reggia – means enhancing this wealth in a perspective of sustainable development for the entire community, in accordance with the protocol of understanding with the Chamber of Commerce, aimed at giving support to consortia, generators of synergies and growth”.

It will be the best opportunity to appreciate the state of health of Terra di Lavoro wines but also to reflect on the warm themes that affect the wine world. A different format, this year more agile and engaging for professionals and wine lovers, will give space to four Wine Talks enriched by the participation of qualified experts, two on Saturday and two on Sunday.

It will start with the discussion on issues such as sustainability and innovation, the relapse of climate change on the sector and strategies to counter them but also to meet environmental protection with the adoption of environmentally friendly solutions, both in vineyard and in distribution.

Another decisive focus on the evolution of consumption and the relationship of young generations with wine. From the growth of wines to zero or low-alcoholic content to the new experiences of narration of wine and its stories, the world of wine from Terra di Lavoro will confront the trends of the moment and will interfere on its future.

The task entrusted also to the third and fourth Wine Talk, which will investigate the change of consumption, from the contraction of domestic demand to the search for new markets. It will be possible to leverage the diversification of the offer, focusing on the valorization of native vines and geographical indications, on the incursions in the world of mixology and spirits as well as on new tasting formulas, enriched by unconventional pairsing and the use of augmented reality. Not only tasting and promotion of Terra di Lavoro wines, therefore, but also a constant attention to the new scenarios that open up for the wine world.

It is then due to the restaurants and pizzerias that better promote the knowledge and diffusion of Terra di Lavoro wines: the most committed wine ambassador will be presented the Award entitled to the memory of Maria Felicia Brini, brilliant and forward-looking producer prematurely disappeared.

“It will be an important moment of reflection – anticipation Cesare Avenia, President of VITICA – thanks to qualified contributions. Let us prepare ourselves in the best way for the challenge of new times. But it will be as always the opportunity to know our wines better”.

Largo, therefore, to the experiential tastings, which will interspers the three days of Terra di Lavoro Wines and will allow to know, together with the wines, the territory of origin, its stories and its custodians. And even producers will be playfully tested, challenged to recognize their wines in blind tastings, enriched by the insidious presence of some “intruder” wine. A nice game, in collaboration with the AIS, Associazione Italiana Sommelier. Also open to the presentation of the companies, members of the VITICA Consortium, awarded by national and international guides and competitions with the delivery of awards.

«The wine has an important value for the economy and the protection of the territory -concludes Cesare Avenia – but it is also a moment of joy and symbol of conviviality and we wanted our wines, from the millenary history, could offer, even on this occasion, a moment of carefree serenity».

Terra di Lavoro Wines is funded with SRG10 of the Rural Development Contract (CSR) Campania 2023-2027, through a call approved with the Decree No. 406 of 1 July 2024 and subsequent modifications and integrations and is established as a pilot experience, even beyond regional borders, for the promotion of culture and wine economy. The entrance is free upon deposit for pocket and cup.
