All’Antico Vinaio Opens Its 50th Store in Paris

The unmistakable red sign of All’Antico Vinaio, the Florentine sandwich brand founded in 1991, has now arrived in Paris. Located at Rue du Petit Pont 3–5, the new store marks a major milestone: the 50th location worldwide for the chain that has become a global ambassador of Made in Italy street food.

The ribbon-cutting was led by Tommaso Mazzanti, the entrepreneur who transformed a small 20-square-meter shop in Florence’s Via de’ Neri into a global phenomenon. “Reaching the milestone of 50 stores is an emotion that’s hard to describe,” said Mazzanti during the inauguration. “When we started, I never imagined that one day we would bring our schiacciate all the way to Paris. I wanted this city to host our fiftieth opening because it represents something special — our first store in one of Europe’s most iconic capitals and the beginning of a new chapter for All’Antico Vinaio. Over the years, I’ve watched the brand grow, evolve, and cross borders and cultures without ever losing its Italian soul and authenticity,” he added. “Every new opening is a piece of a dream built step by step, with dedication, passion, and an extraordinary team.”

A GLOBAL FOOTPRINT AND GROWING AMBITIONS

France is now the fifth country to welcome the All’Antico Vinaio (AV) brand, following Italy, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the UAE. The group maintains a strong presence across Italy — from Tuscany and Lombardy to Sicily — and operates 18 locations in the United States, including 8 in New York City, making it one of the most widespread Italian food formats in the city.

The company has also opened in Dubai and London, in partnership with the Bastianich family in the USA and in the UK, and with the Avolta Group in the airports of Dubai and Rome Fiumicino. All other stores are directly managed by the Mazzanti family. Looking ahead, the group plans at least 20 new openings by 2026.

Financially, the company continues its strong upward trajectory: €26m in 2022, €43m in 2023, and €62m in 2024, with forecasts to exceed €80m in 2025. The group currently employs more than 800 people worldwide.

PARISIAN STYLE MEETS FLORENTINE TRADITION

The new Paris location captures the essence of what made All’Antico Vinaio a global cult favorite. Bread is baked fresh throughout the day, ensuring every sandwich is served warm and crispy. The menu includes the brand’s signature creations — La Favolosa, La Boss, and La Toscana — which have become international bestsellers.

Blending Italian authenticity with Parisian flair, the shop spans around 40 square meters with 10 indoor seats and an outdoor terrace for 20 guests. The design reinterprets All’Antico Vinaio’s rustic Florentine style through a bistrot lens, featuring wooden boiserie, rattan furniture, and large openable windows that create a natural flow between the interior and the lively Parisian street.

To celebrate the French debut, the brand introduced an exclusive limited-edition sandwich: La Notre Dame.” The special features include Tuscan porchetta, raclette with Tuscan Pecorino, and lightly spiced eggplant, merging Italian tradition with a distinctly French touch.

LOOKING FORWARD

This milestone is just one stage in a journey that looks far ahead,” concluded Mazzanti. “The future of All’Antico Vinaio will be about new openings, new challenges, and new countries — but with one certainty: we will continue to grow while staying true to our identity. We want to bring Italian quality, simplicity, and warmth farther than ever, without losing our roots,” he added. “This is not a finish line, but a motivation to keep going — to believe in the value of hard work, the strength of simple ideas, and the love for what we do every day.”
