Food poisoning remains top food safety concern in Australia

Food poisoning has once again been ranked as the most important food safety issue in a survey by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).

The Consumer Insights Tracker was conducted in October 2025 with 2,232 people including 1,307 from Australia and 925 from New Zealand.

At 70.3 percent, most people were confident that food sold in Australia and New Zealand is safe to eat, 16.3 percent were neutral and 13.4 percent were not confident.
