In Washington the third edition of the Italpress Awards

The traditional appointment with the Italpress Awards is back, in collaboration with NIAF.

The third edition of the award – established by the Italpress press agency, directed and founded by Gaspare Borsellino – that honors the important Italian and Italian personalities who value and promote the excellence of Made in Italy in the world, was held at the Georgetown West Room of the Hilton Washington DC Hotel, within the 50th anniversary of the Gala Dinner of the National Italian American Foundation, chaired by Robert Allegrini.

This year there were 10 winners of the Italpress Awards: the vice president of the Chamber of Deputies Giorgio Mulè, the president of the Lazio Region Francesco Rocca, the president of Enav Pasqualino Monti, the president of ICE Matteo Zoppas, the president of Ita Airways Sandro Pappalardo, the president of Federturismo Marina Lalli, the director of the Italian Institute of Culture of New York Claudio Pagliara, the managing director of ADR Airports of Rome Marco Troncone, the president of the Fiera del Levante Garini.

To all there was a depiction of the world with Italy in evidence made by Marco Gallotta, an artist of Italian origins, resident in New York, known worldwide for his cutting techniques of paper, drawing, painting and engraving.

Gaspare Borsellino, founder and manager of the Italpress agency, said “very satisfied with an award that continues to grow year after year”. And he made appointment for 2026, for the fourth edition, which will be held “newly in Washington along with the Niaf”.

Among the present at the ceremony, the Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, who highlighted the importance of the links between Italy and the United States: “Ringrazio Italpress has really done a good initiative – he said -. We have rewarded Italian excellence and this fills us with pride. In addition we have 50 years of Niaf therefore the strong bond between Italy and USA. A bridge with the 17 million Italians living in the United States for a long time, maybe they were also born in the United States but have their roots in Italy. It is important where you go but also important to know where you come from, to know your origins”.

An important relationship, that with the U.S., also highlighted by the Italian ambassador in Washington, Marco Peronaci, “a deep, prestigious story projecting in the future”, said Peronaci, “there is a lot of road that Italy and the United States can travel together in a visionary way to contribute together to a more prosperous world.”.

This year also present the Councillor for Urbanism of the Municipality of Palermo, Maurizio Carta, who presented the exhibition on the Feast of Santa Rosalia.

“It was a great honor to represent Palermo, host city, at the Italpress Awards, which for the third year reward the excellence of the professions and managerial skills of women and men who have distinguished themselves in their work, acting also as ambassadors of Italianity in the world. It is a privilege to be here within the 50 years of NIAF to celebrate Palermo and the sisterhood that binds my city to Washington and others, and the brotherhood between Italy, my country – which is that of the family origins of Italian-Americans – and the United States, the country they chose to cultivate talents and opportunities,” said Carta.

The ceremony, presented by Stefano Vaccara, had the support of Cisalpina, Enel, Eni, HH (Hospital Healthcare Holdings), Intesa Sanpaolo, Ita Airways, Menarini, Nuova Fiera del Levante; Pirelli, Trenitalia and Webuild.
