Findings from a preliminary investigation into the availability of illicit alcohol in an Australian state have been described as “concerning.”
Researchers visited four licensed alcohol retailers in Melbourne, Victoria, during June, July and September 2025. They purchased three suspected illicit vodka products and one control product and submitted all four for testing. Bottles were photographed and packaging characteristics, labeling and traceability were recorded.
