At the opening of the Tuttofood 2026 trade show, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and Amazon officially announced the renewal of their strategic partnership aimed at supporting the internationalization of Italian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The agreement was presented in the presence of Matteo Zoppas, President of ITA, and Giorgio Busnelli, Vice President and Country Manager of Amazon Italy. The renewal also took place with the participation of Francesco Lollobrigida, Italy’s Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty, and Forestry.
The renewed collaboration forms part of a broader strategy to foster the economic growth of Italian businesses and strengthen international trade relations through digital channels and e-commerce opportunities.
Originally launched in 2019, the partnership between ITA and Amazon has focused on promoting and supporting Italian companies participating in the initiative by enabling them to sell products through Amazon and its dedicated Made in Italy products storefront, supported by targeted e-commerce marketing activities.
According to the figures shared during the announcement, the collaboration has already involved more than 2,800 Italian SMEs and enabled the introduction of over 650,000 new Made in Italy products to Amazon customers worldwide.
The renewed agreement also includes several new initiatives designed to further expand the global visibility of Italian products. Among these are the launch of the Made in Italy storefront in Belgium and Ireland, a commitment to broaden the selection of products available to international customers, and the introduction of two new account management programs.
The first initiative, Amazon Start, is dedicated to supporting new selling partners, while Amazon Growth is aimed at high-potential existing sellers seeking to accelerate their international expansion.
The partnership will also be reinforced through joint participation in trade shows and industry events, where companies will be able to explore the commercial opportunities and advantages generated by the collaboration between ITA and Amazon.
Speaking at the event, Matteo Zoppas emphasized the importance of digital export channels in strengthening the competitiveness of Italian businesses abroad and supporting the international visibility of Italian products’ excellence.
Giorgio Busnelli highlighted Amazon’s continued commitment to supporting Italian enterprises in their global growth journey, leveraging the company’s international marketplace infrastructure and digital tools.
