On Monday, May 11 at 19:30, the National Opera America Center will host “Histoire du Tango”, an evening of great charm that will see Stefano Miceli perform in formation of trio together with the composer and clarinetist Paolo Marchettini and the New York violoncellist James Acampora.
The festival, born from an artistic intuition of Miceli, represents a unique formula that combines executive excellence and cultural dissemination: a true dialogue between artist and audience, in which music is told, explained and lived in its deepest dimension. This innovative vision has helped to consolidate the Master’s presence in the New York musical life, leaving a distinctive and recognizable mark in the cultural fabric of the city.
In “Histoire du Tango”, Maestro Stefano Miceli will alternate executive virtuosity with stories, anecdotes, historical references and interpretative ideas, transforming the concert into an immersive and participatory experience, a distinctive feature of the festival.
The program is a sound journey through the evolution of tango, from its nineteenth-century roots to the refined transformations of the twentieth century. Through the intense dialogue between piano, clarinet and cello, emerge the many souls of this genre, between elegance, passion and expressive depth.
In program, music by Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Gardel, Isaac Albéniz and Kurt Weill, reinterpreted in an elegant and evocative dress, able to enhance both the operatic and the rhythmic and dramatic dimension.
At 8:30pm, the reception cocktail “Meet the Maestro” will be held, an exclusive occasion to dialogue with artists in an informal setting.
An internationally renowned artist, Stefano Miceli performed in the most prestigious theatres in the world, including the Berliner Philharmonie, the Sydney Opera House, the Gewandhaus, the La Fenice Theatre, the Forbidden City Concert Hall and the Carnegie Hall. In New York, its intense artistic and academic activity has further consolidated its prestige and authority.
Participation in the event requires mandatory registration and exclusively online
