May the Light Be with You, the Italian-American event in support of families of children suffering from cancer

The Italian-American community in Brooklyn is preparing to gather for an evening of solidarity and civic commitment. Friday 1st May 2026 at 19:30, the historic Dyker Beach Golf Course will host “May the Light Be with You”, a charity event organized by the Italian-American entrepreneur Luca Pautasso, Partner at New York Life – Manhattan General Office, U.S. veteran. Army and resident in Bay Ridge for many years.

The initiative aims to support Little Golden Light, a non-profit organization based in Brooklyn that helps children with cancer and their families. The main goal of this year’s fundraising is to purchase a dedicated van, which will allow small patients and their families to be transported safely and free of charge to hospitals, clinics and care centers throughout the New York area.

For many families facing the long path of pediatric oncological care, emotional, physical and economic loads can be extremely heavy. Ensuring reliable and free transport to healthcare facilities can be a concrete support and significant relief at a particularly delicate time.

The choice of the location is not casual. The Dyker Beach Golf Course is one of the most iconic places in the area and is located in the heart of a community that includes Dyker Heights, Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst, neighborhoods that historically house some of the largest Italian and Italian-American communities in Brooklyn.

“Bay Ridge has been my home for many years and this community has given me so much,” said Luca Pautasso. “With this event we want to bring together local people, families and businesses around a cause that concerns all of us: supporting children and families who are facing one of the most difficult challenges of their lives. ”

The evening will bring together community members, local entrepreneurs, organizations and supporters from all over Brooklyn and the New York metropolitan area, with the aim of transforming solidarity into concrete help.

Organizations, companies and community members are invited to participate in the event or to contribute through sponsorship opportunities.
