Oropan, an Italian premium-bakery leading company, took part last Friday in the official presentation of the tenth edition of the “Week of Italian Cuisine in the World.” The initiative, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, aims to enhance Italy’s agrifood heritage worldwide.
This year’s theme — “Italian cuisine: health, culture, and innovation” — focuses on three core objectives: supporting the candidature of Italian cuisine as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage; promoting Italian food as a healthy, balanced and sustainable model; and highlighting the innovation and research shaping the entire food cycle, from field to table and through recycling and waste management. The Apulian bakery leader — renowned globally for its traditional Altamura bread — was invited to speak as a prominent voice of Italy’s agrifood sector.
A STRATEGY BUILT ON NON-NEGOTIABLE PILLARS
During the session dedicated to the opportunities and challenges of Italy’s agrifood and wine sectors, CEO Lucia Forte outlined the responsibilities facing a modern food company and the pride of representing Italian excellence abroad. “Taking part in initiatives like this allows us to share with the world the authentic value of our products, demonstrating the company’s solidity, the quality of its governance, and its ability to guarantee reliability and continuity,”she said.“Oropan’s strategy is built on non-negotiable pillars: strict compliance, sustainability as both a value and a method, and certified processes and products that become concrete tools of competitiveness. Together, these elements form our ‘passport’ for Italy and for international markets. Internationalising our bread today means promoting our land, our certified supply chain, and a sustainable and competitive industrial model — transforming the territory into value, innovation and future”.

Forte also emphasized Oropan’s deep connection with Altamura and the importance of preserving and promoting the culture of Italian breadmaking as a symbol of Italian identity.
REINFORCING ITALY’S AGRIFOOD IDENTITY WORLDWIDE
Through its participation in the tenth edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, Oropan reaffirmed its commitment to promoting Italy’s agrifood heritage. The company continues to position itself as an ambassador of quality, bread culture, and the productive excellence of its territory — contributing to the global recognition of Italian food as a blend of tradition, innovation, and sustainability.
