SIAL Paris 2026 Launches Twin Competitions to Drive Innovation and Sustainability

At a time when environmental, societal, and nutritional pressures are reshaping the global food landscape, SIAL Paris 2026 is doubling down on its commitment to transformation. The exhibition has officially opened applications for its two flagship competitions—SIAL Innovation and SIAL For Change—positioning them as central levers to accelerate progress across the agri-food value chain.

Framed by its #OwntheChange movement, SIAL Paris is mobilizing industry stakeholders to integrate sustainability and innovation into core business strategies, while showcasing tangible, scalable solutions.

In 2026, we will be at the forefront of innovation more than ever, to promote creativity that is practical, committed, and action-oriented. SIAL Paris will showcase concrete solutions capable of accelerating the transitions and opening up new opportunities for the entire food industry,” said Audrey Ashworth, Director of SIAL Paris.

SIAL INNOVATION MARKS 30 YEARS AS INDUSTRY BENCHMARK

Celebrating its 30th anniversary, SIAL Innovation continues to stand as a global reference point for product and solution development in the food sector. Organized in partnership with Protéines XTC, the competition highlights cutting-edge launches and breakthrough concepts, offering participants significant international exposure.

For its milestone edition, the programme has been redesigned to enhance visibility and engagement. New features include an integrated SIAL Taste area for product sampling and a dedicated stage for thought leadership and innovation-focused discussions.

Participation remains exclusive to SIAL Paris exhibitors and is free of charge. Eligible entries must include products launched within the past two years, with an application deadline set for 28 August 2026. Jury evaluations will take place in September, with sector winners announced the same month. Final Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards will be revealed during the exhibition in October.

Beyond recognition, SIAL Innovation provides access to a global ecosystem of buyers, investors, and industry experts, reinforcing its value as a strategic growth platform.

SIAL FOR CHANGE EXPANDS SCOPE WITH NEW EUROPEAN PARTNERSHIP

Running alongside the innovation competition, SIAL For Change is entering its second edition with expanded reach and ambition. Dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the programme is organised in partnership with CSR agency Hyssop.

A major development for 2026 is its collaboration with The Foodies initiative—led by FoodDrinkEurope and supported by the European Commission—which opens the competition for the first time to European SMEs and start-ups not exhibiting at SIAL Paris.

This expansion significantly broadens access, allowing a wider pool of companies to showcase their sustainability commitments on an international stage. Applications opened on 24 March 2026 and will close on 1 July 2026. Jury evaluations are scheduled for September, with the awards ceremony taking place on 18 October 2026 during the exhibition.

Participation is free and offers companies the opportunity to increase visibility among decision-makers, media, and partners, while positioning themselves as leaders in sustainable transformation. In addition, SIAL For Change will feature a dedicated hub within the exhibition, designed as a space for inspiration and the exchange of best practices.

ONE PLATFORM, ONE GOAL: SHAPING THE FUTURE OF FOOD

Together, SIAL Innovation and SIAL For Change underline SIAL Paris’s strategic role as a global platform for identifying and amplifying the initiatives shaping tomorrow’s food systems. By combining product innovation with sustainability leadership, the competitions aim to drive a more resilient, responsible, and forward-looking agri-food sector.

With applications now open, SIAL Paris is calling on industry players across the spectrum to step forward and contribute to the next chapter of food innovation and transformation.
