Teaching of Italian and multilingualism: international experts in comparison in the webinar of CGIE

Promote strategies, approaches and good practices for a teaching of Italian able to dialogue with the multilingual language repertoires of students, promoting inclusive educational paths and adapted to the complexity of contemporary contexts. This is the goal of the webinar entitled “Italian and multilingual: building language bridges for the new generations”, organized by the Fourth Thematic Commission “Language and Culture” of the General Council of Italians to the East chaired by Lidia Campanale, which will take place next April 11 at 10:00 (CET).

The initiative aims to offer a space of reflection and comparison on the role of the Italian language in multilingual and international contexts, with particular attention to the new generations and is aimed at understanding how to integrate Italian teaching with the linguistic plurality of students, enhancing their skills and transforming diversity into a resource for both Italian and foreign pupils.

On the subject will be confronted by the speakers Joseph Lo Bianco (Australia), emeritus professor of Language and Literacy Education, expert in linguistic policies and multilingual education, Antonella Sorace (Scotland), professor of Acquisitional Linguistics and founder of Bilingualism Matters, Karin Martin (Spain), consultant and trainer in multilingualism, author and founder of The Multilingual Garden and Saverio Carpentieri (Austria), professor and research institute.

The webinar, moderated by Lidia Campanale, is aimed at Italian teachers, language teaching experts, educators, parents, cultural and linguistic operators, members of the CGIE and the Comites, as well as schools and educational institutions interested in the themes of multilingualism.
