At Castelluccia, in the old forest of the Park of the Royal Palace of Caserta, the press conference of presentation of “Terra di Lavoro Wines”, moderated by journalist Antonella Amodio. The event, promoted by the Consorzio Tutela Vini Caserta VITICA and the Royal Palace of Caserta, will animate the UNESCO Site from 11 to 13 October and will see the wines of Terra di Lavoro in the center of attention and reflection of the press, experts in the field and enoappassionate.
We change the formula for the fourth edition of “Terra di Lavoro Wines” that looks to the future with NEXT WINE: Wine Talk and Wine Forum will alternate to give the possibility, in a simple, agile and innovative way to producers, journalists, buyers but also fans to discover the rich and ancient world of Terra di Lavoro wines. At the heart of the event the challenges and opportunities for the wine world, the evolution of consumption, the new markets and exports but also the new frontiers of the relationship with wine with engaging Wine Experience.
“We wanted to lighten and improve the format of the event -anticipa Cesare Avenia, President of VITICA – to improve and stimulate a dynamic comparison between the many actors interested in the world of wine. It will not be a mere review but a laboratory of experiences, based on the valorisation of the culture of wine, which will allow us to understand the direction to take in order to make known and appreciate more and more our wines. The wines of Terra di Lavoro have a thousand years history but we are sure they will also have an important future”.
Many interesting initiatives planned that, among other things, this year will take place, for the first time, in three days. A beautiful challenge, for example, the blind tasting reserved to the same producers who will be invited to judge a selection of wines including their own – among which will be present also some intruder – to illustrate and recognize the characteristics. A nice game, in collaboration with the Italian Association Sommelier AIS but also the opportunity to deepen the knowledge of the territory and its wines.
In the three days tightened of meetings and tastings, Wine Talk and Wine Forum will alternate. Many themes to be dealt with, from sustainability to new agronomic techniques, from the evolution of consumption to the evolution of wine communication strategies also thinking of the younger ones, from exports to new forms of consumption, for example with wine-based cocktails or with the most innovative wine experiences, such as online tastings and experiential trips. They will also accompany the appointment of musical moments and also moments of theatrical entertainment by Officinateatro APS.
Maria Felicia Brini, brilliant and forward-looking producer unfortunately disappeared, will be dedicated the prize reserved for restaurants and pizzerias that better have promoted the knowledge and diffusion of the wines of Terra di Lavoro. But a special recognition will also be given to companies with wines selected and reported by national and international guides and publications, as evidence of the desire to promote synergistically the territory, wines and the work of winemakers.
The initiative is also marked this year by synergy with the Royal Palace of Caserta: «The Royal Palace of Caserta is an actor and promoter of the development of the territory – says the director Tiziana Maffei – a living and active body, institution of the State that enhances the resources of our country. Wine is one of the most significant expressions of this identity: productive reality but also cultural, able to tell in the world the richness of this land. It is a deep bond, rooted in the very history of the Vanvitellian Complex and of the Bourbon dynasty: in the San Silvestro Forest still survive the vineyards of the rulers, today recovered also through the vinification of Pallagrello. Already in the project of the Real Delights was clear a vision of territorial development. Today this vision is renewed in a concrete collaboration with communities, which sees the Institute protagonist of numerous activities in favor of local excellence. The Royal Palace of Caserta also confirms the shared commitment with the Chamber of Commerce of Caserta, with which he signed a protocol of understanding in 2024, to support, through the consortia, the productions that tell the territory and promote its sustainable development”.
In addition, the project “Terra di Lavoro Wines” is funded with SRG10 of the Rural Development Agreement (CSR) Campania 2023-2027, through a call approved with the Decree No. 406 of 1 July 2024 and subsequent modifications and integrations and is established as a pilot experience, even beyond regional borders, for the promotion of culture and wine economy.
“Terra di Lavoro Wines”, a free entry after deposit for pocket and glass, will see the protagonists of the wine denominations protected by the Consorzio VITICA: Aversa Asprinio DOP, Falerno del Massico DOP, Galluccio DOP, Roccamonfina IGP and Terre del Volturno IGP. Wines that will offer to the workers of the work, to the enoappassionates and to the numerous visitors of the Royal Palace of Caserta a complete overview of the richness and peculiarity of the wine offer of Terra di Lavoro.
